Every summer, we are offer
SPICE - Summer Odyssey: Partners in Career Exploration
– this is a special one month opportunity to
sample dozens of different jobs. You’ll spend
your mornings at Del Mar College and Texas A&M
studying careers like cosmetology, nursing, robotics,
and dental, and your afternoons at the Craft Training
Center getting hands-on experience with welding, scaffolding,
pipefitting, and electricity. We’ll pick you
up in the morning at either Ray or Moody, feed you
breakfast, and take you to exciting training sessions
at the Craft Training Center (CTC.) You will receive
a certificate from CTC, as well as making some great
connections with wonderful job opportunities that
you couldn’t buy for any amount of money…
There is no cost on your part. You will be fed,
be transported, and have HELP with baby sitting
and other problems that keep you from attending
classes. In SPICE, we will provide you with a special
case manager from Texas A&M. Just let us know
how we can HELP.
What you do have to do to be a part of this groundbreaking
new program is to enroll in Workforce Solutions
of the Coastal Bend. Workforce Solutions is a great
organization that serves our community by helping
connect employers with employees, and offers many
advantages and assistance such as babysitting, tuition
assistance, and much more.
