activities to youth in selected CCISD schools, supervised by SERCO and the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation. Grant funds are provided by the City of Corpus Christi, acting as the fiscal agent for Department of Family & Protective Services.

HELP recruits practitioners in a wide range of professions to come to each of the participating schools on a regular basis and visit with the students. These specialists share how they came to be what they are and what the costs and benefits to the various careers are in real life.

We also organize a number of field rips to various points of interest, including the port, the refineries and the Hooks, as well as monthly community service activities such as caroling, preparing goody bags, and mentoring to younger students.

HELP’s Careers of the Future Club at Carroll, Moody and Baker, and accompanying clubs at South Park and Tom Browne, increase the preparation of students in planning for their future careers; increase college and career exploration for students; increase leadership development skills; and increase collaborations between youth and adults to encourage and support students in their success in middle school and high school and beyond.

HELP works with SERCO to bring the students exciting career information as well as the chance to learn valuable employment information from real practitioners.
